Shenandoah National Park



The Central Virginia Piedmont is a great environment for viniculture. Three outstanding wineries are located in Madison County and produce fine wines known nationally and internationally. These wineries are easily accessible and welcome visitors interested in their operations. Tours through both their facilities are informative and enjoyable down to the last sip.

Prince Michel
Home to Prince Michel, Madison, and Rapidan River wines, Prince Michel Vineyards and Winery is one of Virginia’s premier wine estates. Beautifully situated on Route 29 among the rolling foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Prince Michel is conveniently connected to Charlottesville, Richmond, and Washington DC. Enjoy a self-guided tour of our state-of-the-art winemaking facility followed by a complementary wine tasting in our newly designed, “see through” tasting room atop the winery. DuCard Vineyards

DuCard Vineyards is Virginia’s only solar powered winery, comprising 7 acres of French vinifera and native Virginia varieties, all meticulously nurtured and tended by hand. Located at an elevation of 1,000 feet, on a picturesque slope in the shadow of the Blue Ridge mountains, our grapes reflect the rocky soils and rugged landscape of Madison County, Virginia and yield wines of unique character and complexity. DuCard Vineyards new tasting room features gorgeous views of vines, mountain stream and the Shenandoah National Park.   We are open for tastings 11 AM – 6 PM Friday through Sunday plus holiday Mondays, and by appointment. During the fall harvest and foliage season of September, October and November we are open seven days a week. Early Mountain Vineyards 

Located in Madison, Virginia at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Early Mountain Vineyards comprises more than 300 acres of the historic Monticello Wine Trail.
